The Seminar,
A total of 8 modules will be presented during the seminar (8th module is optional, depending on available time), supported by over 500 slides and many videos. The interactive nature of this seminar will teach every level of an organization to assess a project and detect potential disasters in the early stages and prevent them from happening.

  • - 1.     terminology
  • - 2.     dimensions, weights & forces
  • - 3.     heavy transport
  • - 4.     heavy lifting
  • - 5.     jacking & skidding
  • - 6.     load outs (roll on/off)
  • - 7.     accidents and how to avoid them
  • - 8.     maintenance and inspection

Click here for full 2-day agenda

My seminars are very different from others in the sense that this is not a “sit and listen” seminar, this is a highly interactive event where dialogues take place and questions are asked (and answered). The sessions are based on slide shows with many images and videos of actually executed projects. This gives a thru and realistic impression to the audience. Below are some sample slides.

Crew Resource Management (CRM),
There is one reason that causes the majority of accidents in our industry; communication. It is a buzz word nowadays and many believe that if it is repeated often enough, communication will somehow improve. Fact is however that communication needs to be implemented much like any other initiative.
Here is where many companies struggle and where The Works international can offer a solid solution that is simple and easy to implement. Crew Resource Management was developed by NASA following the 1970 Apollo 13 incident “Houston, we have a problem“.
The simplicity and effectiveness of CRM reached other industries such as the health care industry (operating rooms) and the airline industry where it has been a standard since 1990. Crew Resource Management is now a standard topic in all of my seminars. It is a much needed practice as the number of accidents are not going down.

Testimonials,
The international experience that Marco brings to the table benefits every level in a transport an/or lift organization, starting from the pre-engineering phase, to the equipment selection, to logistics and execution. His in-depth knowledge has been of great value to numerous individuals and companies around the world. Not only is he a true asset to our industry but I consider him a personal friend as well.
Bernd Schwengsbier, president, Scheuerle / Nicolas / Kamag

When I need information on transporters, I turn to Marco. His worldwide exposure and experience has led him to become one of the most knowledgeable engineers on hydraulic transporters and SPMT’s in our industry.
Kent Goodman, Director of Construction Technology, Fluor Daniel (retired).

The application of sound engineering principles give new and experienced professionals the ability to tackle increasingly complex problems. This highly specialized information was once available to only a handful of specialists worldwide. Marco has made it accessible to all.
Jeff Dacey P.E., Rigging Manager, Bantrel Constructors

Marco is a very experienced Heavy Transport & Lift professional with a keen eye towards safety, not only in terms of welfare of personnel but in the very real aspect of security of lifts and transports.
John Jackson, Managing Director, Fagioli USA

I continue to be impressed with his efforts to become one of the thought leaders in our industry. His books, articles and speaking engagements are of very high quality.
